Health Care

The Ardmore Community is home to a number of excellent facilities featuring state-of-the-art equipment and technology. The facilities continue to expand with Mercy Hospital Ardmore is close to completing an expansion that will result in the best health care facility between Oklahoma City and the Metroplex. Mercy Hospital Ardmore, in conjunction with the clinics and private practices, create an environment that will rival those in cities much larger than Ardmore.

The Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Mercy Ardmore Hospital recently completed a project to construct a state of the art cancer center.  The new facility provides southern Oklahomans high-tech compassionate care close to home.

The Chamber Foundation was the developer and owner of the cancer center and leases it to Mercy Hospital Ardmore.  The new cancer facility sits on an acre and a half on Hall Street, just east of the Southern Oklahoma Medical Plaza.  The Foundation owns the property but is a part of Mercy's campus. The Center includes both radiation and chemotherapy services.  Below is an artists rendering of the new facility.

Mercy Hospital Ardmore continues its tradition of improving the quality of care it provides to area residents. In 2003, it opened a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center. It then added the option of an Open MRI to its other offerings. Additional enhancements to its other health care delivery services continue to improve the quality of care available.

Preventative services at no cost are available through the Carter County Health Department located at 405 South Washington.

Quality skilled nursing care is provided at numerous facilities throughout the community. Ardmore Village opened in 1984 and provides older adults the freedom of independent living without the hassles of maintaining a home. In addition, a differing levels of service are offered based on the needs of the individual. These services allow a safe environment for our seniors to be active, yet have immediate access to services when needed.

Adult Day Services of Southern Oklahoma celebrated ten years of service in 2009 and its existence has dramatically improved the lives of many area residents. This facility is designed for adults that cannot care for themselves for extended period of time during the day. It allows for the care of these individuals when there might not be another person to watch over them. The completion of this building has allowed them to expand their outreach to more area residents.

The care of the terminally ill during the end of their journey is difficult. Cross Timbers Hospice has filled the need to aid and assist the dying and their families in this most difficult time with caring and compassion. The relocation of Cross Timbers into a new facility several years ago has allowed them to expand their services and reach more area residents.

Our area and its medical facilities continue to expand and grow. In keeping with the Ardmore reputation of quality and prosperity, these expansions match those in other areas of the economy and create one more key ingredient to Ardmore's success.
