Posted by Madison on 08/30/2020

The Oklahoma Travel Industry Association is partnering with Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell to produce the 2020 Lt. Governor’s Travel & Tourism Summits, which will be held virtually this year. These summits are half-day programs providing tourism education and will feature speakers covering a range of topics on best practices to promote tourism.  The events commence with a town hall-type discussion by the Lt. Governor on tourism updates and development.  Ardmore will host the initial summit on Tuesday, September 22nd, followed by Shawnee on September 24th, and Edmond on October 20th.

Ardmore was selected as one of three host communities for this year’s summits. On Tuesday, September 22nd, Ardmore is proud to have Summer Kirkland, Senior Vice President & Media Advisor with Stephens Media Groups, as our presenter.  Summer will be speaking on the essential elements of destination marketing, including digital marketing and advertising, website management, and branding strategies. The efforts for recovery by the tourism industry from COVID-19 impacts, make this a very timely topic that will be beneficial to the hospitality sector as well as a variety of industries!

This event is open to any interested organizations. Tickets are $10 per summit or $25 to attend all three! A link for to the summits can be found on the Ardmore Chamber and Ardmore Tourism websites. For more information on the summits please call OTIA at (405) 942-1121.
