Spring is just around the corner and Ardmore has a whole batch of activities and exciting events lined up for this fun time of year! Now is the time to look ahead and mark your calendars for all the great upcoming opportunities.
Always an informative and fun time, The Noble Research Institute’s Profiles and Perspectives series kicks of its 2019 season with a topic for kids and adults alike with Spinosaurus: Lost Giant of the Cretaceous on March 2, 2019. The Ardmore community has a long-prioritized fitness and activity, as well as supporting great causes. This spring, Ardmore will host the seventh annual Color Me Crazy Run at Regional Park on March 23rd. Be sure to participate or volunteer in the final Ardmore to Arbuckle A2A Marathon/Half-Marathon/5K, which has been a true source of pride in Southern Oklahoma.
As the temperature continues to rise, bring your appetite to Downtown Ardmore for this year’s Taste of Ardmore on March 29th at 5:00 pm in the Depot District. Come out and enjoy the flavor of local restaurants and food vendors and live entertainment! There will be a children’s activity area with bounce houses and face painting, so bring the whole family for this fun event.
Also gearing up in spring is the Ardmore Parks and Recreation Department! The department is set for a season full of special events from the Easter Egg Eggstravaganza on Thursday April 18th at Regional Park to the Kid’s Fishing Derby on May 4th, also at Regional Park.
Returning for a second year, the Cowboy Way Jubilee will be held again in downtown Ardmore’s Depot District. This festival includes cowboy music, food and fare for people of all ages. There will even be special celebrity guest appearances from famous western TV shows and movies. The Cowboy Way Mayfest will be held from May 2nd through the 5th at the Marketplace in downtown Ardmore.
