Greetings from your friends at the Ardmore Chamber!
I hope this finds you well and enjoying the holiday spirit. The holidays are a favorite time of year for me. The festivities around the Annual Tree Lighting in Central Park, the two parades and the Festival of Lights Drive-Thru Display should bring the holiday spirit to all.
I have enjoyed taking the time to shop locally and family, friends and colleagues from across the country look forward to their annual Southern Oklahoma treat. The cool weather also reminds us to look within and share our time, talents and treasure with those less fortunate. The real spirit of Christmas is in giving freely with no expectation in return.
My mother instilled in me the importance of personal, hand-written notes in Christmas cards. I still address each of my cards in cursive and jot a short (or not so short) note to each of the recipients. Each card brings a smile to my face as I recall a special memory associated with these individuals and the special place they have in my heart.
I am blessed to serve in a leadership role for four incredible organizations with volunteers committed to the continued growth and success of our community. Each of these individuals brings a unique set of talents to share, and Southern Oklahoma is better for their service. Ardmore is a great community and the future is bright! Thank each of you for the role you play in this journey. It has been an incredible year and 2019 holds even greater promise.
My Christmas wish for you is to take time over the next few days to treasure that which is most important – faith, family and friends. Wishing you many blessings and a Merry Christmas!
