Know Before You Vote

In carrying out our mission of encouraging informed and active participation in our government, the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Ardmore Young Professionals, and Leadership Greater Ardmore Alumni are again providing a Candidate Forum Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Ardmore Convention Center.

The focus of this forum is to provide information on those candidates running for office from Southern Oklahoma.  All candidates that will represent Southern Oklahoma have been invited to participate, include those running for:

                State Senate District 14

State House of Representatives District 48

State House of Representatives District 49

                Carter County Commissioner District 3

The format of the forum will allow the candidates, by party affiliation, to provide a brief statement and answer a series of questions devised by a non-partisan committee and make a closing remark.  Following the forum, the candidates will be available to meet and greet attendees, answer questions and distribute information.

“These forums truly provide all voters an opportunity to make informed decisions when they are handed election ballots in November.” said Dave Mordy, Vice President, Commercial Lending Officer at Landmark Bank and Chair of the Ardmore Chamber. “I anticipate intriguing dialogue along with mutual civility and I hope there will be a good turnout.”

This event is free to attend and open to the public. Be informed and know before you vote!

On October 30, 2018, we will also be hosting a State Issues Forum at the Ardmore Convention Center. The programming for this event will focus on all five different state questions certified to appear on the Oklahoma ballot on November 6, 2018. Keep an eye on the Chamber Facebook page and e-blasts for more information.
