Event Celebrates BNSF Certification

04/16/2017

State and local dignitaries, along with representatives from the Ardmore Development Authority and Sovereign OK Development of Oklahoma City, gathered on Monday of this past week to celebrate the Ameripointe Logistics Park being named a BNSF Certified Site. Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, who attended the ceremony, called the BNSF certification “a big deal for Southern Oklahoma, it’s a big deal for Ardmore, and it’s a game changer” for the entire state.

A public-private partnership between the ADA and Sovereign, Ameripointe is located on the east side of the Ardmore Industrial Airpark and includes a two-mile plus rail loop large enough to turn around a fully loaded train. When combined with the existing 9,000-foot runway and Interstate 35 access, the Airpark, including Ameripointe, becomes one of only five industrial parks in the United States with these transportation advantages. There are currently over 1,200 acres of land available within Ameripointe.  Given the key location along Interstate 35, the development could potentially be home to over 5 million square feet of facilities and upwards of 4,000 employees.

Neal Mc Caleb, Ambassador at Large for the Chickasaw Nation noted that the Chickasaw Nation is excited about the opportunities this new development will provide for southern Oklahoma and Chickasaw Country.

One of only ten BNSF Certified Sites across the United States, Ameripointe has already undergone the initial site preparation that can often delay the development process.  When looking to relocate or expand their business, BNSF clients know that anywhere from three to nine months of time can be saved by choosing a Certified Site.  With multiple companies relocating to the North Texas region, Ameripointe offers not just a time savings benefit, but also a long-term cost savings by being in Oklahoma where the cost of doing business and the cost of living are both lower than in North Texas.  “The attainment of the BNSF Site Certification provides us with one more partner in the very competitive industrial recruitment process”, states Mita Bates, President of the ADA.
