Ardmore Day at the Capital
The Ardmore Chamber of Commerce takes its role of representing business at our state capital very seriously. This year, more than in the recent past, it is important for our elected representatives to understand our positions on a variety of issues that impact our daily lives. In that spirit, we would like to invite all our member to join us for the 2017 Ardmore Day at the Capital, scheduled for Wednesday, March 22, 2017. This event is a joint project of the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Greater Ardmore.
The group will meet at 7:00 am at the Ardmore Convention Center and bus to Oklahoma City. Once there, the group will receive a ”special access” tour of the Capital, including the current construction and renovations. The Guest Speakers will cover topics from legislation affecting business by the Oklahoma State Chamber, legislation affecting education by the House Education Committee, and the cost of corrections from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
Senator Simpson, Representative Ownbey and Representative Hardin will join the group for lunch and provide an update on current activities of interest to southern Oklahoma. In addition, Leadership from both the House of Representatives and Senate are scheduled to visit.
Bob Humphrey, Membership Services for the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce Board said, “After attending the "Ardmore Day at The Capitol" for several years, I have found that the more we are exposed and interact with our elected officials, the more they will listen and be interested in what we have to say.”
