The Oklahoma Society of Association Executives elected Mita Bates, Ardmore Chamber of Commerce/Tourism Authority Senior Vice President as vice president of the Association's Board of Directors.
This is the second year Bates has served as a vice president of conference for the organization. The officers for the 2012-2013 begin their duties this month and were recognized at the recent state conference in Clinton.
"It is an honor to serve such an outstanding organization. OSAE's commitment to excellence in our industry is even more important than ever in today's business and political environment," Bates said.
Oklahoma Society of Association Executives was established in 1963, to unite association professionals in the State of Oklahoma. OSAE has a diverse membership sharing the common goal of excellence in association management. These associations and their partners advance Oklahoma. OSAE members include professionals representing trade organizations, professional societies, association management companies, chambers of commerce, charitable organizations, and foundations. They include chief staff executives, senior staff, department heads, and staff specialists interested in professional development and networking.
Ardmore participates in the organization as both a member and strategic partner. Participation in OSAE and its events allows access to key individuals who plan and coordinate training, meetings, conferences and events for their organizations. The Ardmore Convention Center has benefited from the networking opportunities hosting several statewide and regional meetings. "Ardmore's presence at OSAE events has resulted in the opportunity to market to a very strategic segment of the meeting industry. The number of proposals currently outstanding is the highest since the convention center opened. Many of these proposals are the direct result of relationships established at OSAE," said Janet Bateman, Ardmore Convention Center Director of Marketing.
