The purpose of YP clubs is to promote and preserve the businesses, attractions, amenities and events that make a community unique.? The emphasis is on enrichment and quality-of-life opportunities.?
The Ardmore Young Professionals Organization (AYPO) will be a group built to exchange ideas, interact socially and share common interest in order to position themselves as Ardmore's leaders of today and tomorrow for the betterment of our community.?
All across the country, young professionals are becoming involved and they are organizing Young Professionals (YP) clubs that are addressing community issues.? In communities where the traditional power structure isn't paying attention to what the next generation wants from its communities, young professionals are inventing new rules of engagement.? The Ardmore Chamber of Commerce would like to introduce The Ardmore Young Professionals Organization whose goal would be to exchange ideas, interact socially and share common interest in order to position themselves as Ardmore's leaders of today and tomorrow for the betterment of our community.
Do not be deterred by the name.? The definition of "Young" varies.? Some say between 20-45 years of age.? Others might say "young at heart".? Well, both are true for the Ardmore YPO.? "Professional" does not indicate someone with a certification like a CPA, engineer, doctor, etc.? Most YP clubs are comprised of people who are employed in a variety of jobs, but are heavily populated by those in creative jobs. This is also true for the Ardmore YPO.
Remember, members of the Baby Boomer generation should not be fearful of the Generation X'ers.? In fact, we should encourage their involvement!
